If it wasn’t bad enough for the Bears to have a passing game led by Mitch Trubisky, the team has now angered its top wide receiver to the point that he’s reportedly asked to be traded.
Allen Robinson, by far the best pass-catcher in Chicago since the departure of Alshon Jeffery, is upset the organization has not given him a lucrative contract extension.
Thus, Robinson has asked to be traded, according to the Chicago Tribune, and he has taken down all references to the Bears from his social media accounts this week. Teammate Tarik Cohen supported Robinson’s contract wishes via Twitter on Tuesday.

In making his squabble with the Bears public, Robinson is doing what general manager Ryan Pace wanted to avoid — an airing of dirty laundry at a time the team’s inability to move the ball could sink its season.
“We know how important A-Rob is to us not just as a player but as a teammate,” Pace told reporters last week. “But those things are going to remain behind the scene as we work through the process.”
Robinson caught 98 passes for 1,147 yards last year and secured seven touchdown receptions. Between the Jaguars and Bears, he has been on mediocre to bad teams for the majority of his career.
In Week 1’s win over the Lions, Robinson made five catches for 75 yards. He’s the top target of Trubisky, who despite a strong three-touchdown performance against Detroit is widely considered a major disappointment after being drafted No. 2 overall in 2017. Losing Robinson would make the signal-caller’s life more difficult.
The Bears have been competitive the past two seasons largely because of their defense. Their offense ranked 29th in points scored and yardage in 2019, while their defense ranked fourth in points allowed and eighth in yardage allowed.
‘Warzone’ Season 6: Release date, start time, subway explainer for ‘Call of Duty’ update
Season 6 of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” and the accompanying “Warzone” is set to be released early next week for download, and there will be another major map design shift to Verdansk as part of the data package.
Building off Season 5’s introduction of a moving train and opening of the train station, Activision will bring a multistop underground subway into the “Warzone” fray. With that change comes renewed worries about campers and questions about how it will influence the flow of game play.
At the very least, it should provide a refresh to a mode that has now been out for six months.

Here’s an early primer of what we know about the next update to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”:
When does Season 6 of ‘Warzone’ release?
Season 6 of “Warzone” will be released for download on Tuesday, Sept. 29. In some areas of the U.S., the update will be out in earliest hours of Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The last full-scale update for “Warzone” came out on Aug. 5.
What time will Season 6 of ‘Warzone’ be available?
Season 6 will likely follow a similar pattern to Season 5 in terms of rollout strategy. The current season was unveiled at 2 a.m. ET on a Wednesday, so Season 6 should be out somewhere between 11 p.m. ET Tuesday and 3 a.m. ET Wednesday.
It’s probably a good idea to start that download before bed Tuesday night so the game is available to play the next day.
What is the ‘Warzone’ subway?
There will be an underground train loop introduced in Season 6 of “Warzone” after Verdansk got an above-ground train in Season 5.
The subway system will have seven stops, labeled A-G, and run near key parts of the map, including the stadium and airport. There are presumably comprehensive stations at each stop that could prove important battle points in their own right.
It’s expected there will be an actual train running through the tunnels and stopping briefly at all seven destinations.
Here’s the cinematic trailer for the Season 6 subway system:
Can you ride the ‘Warzone subway?
From the Season 6 “Warzone” trailer, it seems probable that players can board the subway and ride it around the loop. Operators in the trailer enter an underground train several times in the video.

The underground Verdansk train will stop at the following locations:
- Karst River Quarry
- Promenade East
- Main train station
- Torsk Bloc
Conor McGregor claims his next fight is against Manny Pacquiao
Conor McGregor claimed he was set to fight Manny Pacquiao in the Middle East in his next outing.
McGregor, a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, sensationally retired in June, but it was hinted earlier this month that the Irishman would return next year.
After a long Twitter rant during which he vented his frustration at a lack of action this year — his only fight has been a win over Donald Cerrone in January — McGregor said he was set for a return to boxing.
McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in August 2017 and is now set to meet the 41-year-old Pacquiao.
“I’m boxing Manny Pacquiao next in the Middle East,” he wrote. “It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era, afraid of a fight.”

Pacquiao (62-7-2) fought twice last year, winning the WBA (Super) welterweight title by beating Keith Thurman in July 2019.
Deivi Garcia has one more start to cement Yankees postseason role
Deivi Garcia’s entry to the majors took a step back in his most recent outing, when he gave up six runs in just three innings at Fenway Park.
He’s got one more start Saturday to show the Yankees he’s ready to play an important role in the postseason.
Asked his most important takeaway from that performance, Garcia said it came down to having a game plan on the mound.
“How to put together a plan and understand how important it is to execute certain pitches in certain situations and how to find a way to do that,’’ Garcia said Friday through an interpreter before the Yankees faced the Marlins in The Bronx.
That was certainly an issue against the Red Sox on Sunday in Boston, when manager Aaron Boone questioned the pitch selection with Gary Sanchez behind the plate.
“Just some misses with his fastball,’’ Boone said following the outing of Garcia’s lack of command. “I don’t think he had the same life on his fastball, maybe a tick off. A couple of pitch selections could have mixed a little more.”
Boone was confident Garcia would return to form before the playoffs.
“Just a bump here for him,’’ Boone said. “They’re all things he can correct and do what we’ve seen in his next one. He’s fully equipped to handle these things.”
Unlike his last appearance, Garcia doesn’t figure to pitch to Sanchez against the Marlins because Sanchez caught Friday and Saturday is a day game.
Regardless of who Garcia is pitching to, he’ll hope to avoid the eight hits and two homers he allowed to a bad Red Sox team.
“It’s important to put a good plan in place and go out there and execute the plan, especially in tough moments,’’ Garcia said. “Follow the plan of attack.”
It’s still unclear how the 21-year-old might be used in the playoffs. With Gerrit Cole and Masahiro Tanaka set to start the first two games of the best-of-three wild-card series, the Yankees seem most likely to turn to J.A. Happ, who started Friday’s game against the Marlins in The Bronx.
Even if that’s the case, Garcia figures to play an important role for the staff, either in the wild-card series or beyond, if the Yankees advance.
