Animal Crossing is the New Hub for Nostalgic Content

Animal Crossing has become one of the most popular games of the year. The reason behind this is the relaxed and pleasing to the eye experience that the game has to offer. Additionally, the game also provides a platform for players to showcase their creativity by designing their islands.

However, GamesRadar recently came across an interestingly creative YouTube video. The video uploaded by BrokeDave features an animal crossing version of the popular teen show Drake and Josh. The show, aired on Nickelodeon and formed a prominent part of every millennial’s childhood.

Thus, hearing that catchy intro song after so many years makes one tear up with nostalgia. The intro featured in the video was a part of the fourth season of Drake and Josh.

How can a player make such animations in animal crossing?

Replying to GamesRadar, BrokeDave said that most of the elements in his video are from the assets available in Animal Crossing. However, he also admitted that he had to use a small amount of green screen animations for some sequences.

He says that the scene where Josh accidentally hits Oprah with his car was particularly challenging. He couldn’t have relied purely on the game assets for that one.

Other players might be able to make similar animations with basic video editing skills. They would just have to record their characters in a desirable position.

It would be wonderful to watch this evolve into a trend. Either others or BrokeDave himself could present us with similar gems reminiscent of our childhood.

The animations could be also seen as original shorts to build interesting stories. Therefore, the possibilities to this are endless. It appears that, after Minecraft, Animal Crossing might be the new breeding ground for creativity.

This creativity would not just be limited to how the players design their islands but can also expand to other mediums.

WFAN is really close to a Craig Carton reunion

WFAN is really close to a Craig Carton reunion

Talks between Craig Carton and WFAN have intensified to the point that a formal offer to host in the afternoons is expected to be extended by the end of the week, The Post has learned.

Carton, 51, has been off of FAN for three years ever since he was charged and convicted of fraud in a scheme in which he misallocated loans to repay gambling debts.

After serving a year in a federal prison, Carton was released this summer for what can be termed good behavior.

Carton to the afternoons is not a sure thing just yet, despite the industry-wide feeling it will happen. He has a legitimate offer to host mornings in Philadelphia at 97.5 The Fanatic, which The Post has previously reported.

FAN is also trying to figure out whom to pair Carton with if he goes head-to-head with the “Michael Kay Show.” An ex-athlete is the preferred choice. Carton worked well with Boomer Esiason for a decade. FAN may need to expand off that idea if it cannot find the right fit.

The idea of returning to mornings is not happening. Esiason and partner Gregg Giannotti continue to rate well. They were again No. 1 in the market this summer.

As for FAN’s current team of Evan Roberts and Joe Benigno, after excelling in middays, they have struggled against Kay and haven’t been helped by the pandemic limiting sports in recent months.

If Carton returns, Roberts could very well return to middays, replacing Marc Malusis and teaming with Maggie Gray. Gray’s contract is also up at the end of the year. FAN/CBS Sports Radio would likely find another spot for Malusis further down in the order.

Benigno, who turned 67 this week, has constantly talked about retirement. He could get his wish with Carton’s return.

Benigno would likely be offered to have some spot FAN appearances, if he wants it after he goes to Florida, where he has repeatedly said he will go after hanging up his headset.

ESPN/ABC are the broadcast home of seven of the eight first-round MLB playoff series. Its broadcasters will be calling the games from the Bristol studio or their homes.

Some teams, like its “Sunday Night Baseball” crew of Matt Vasgersian and Alex Rodriguez, will be doing two series. The duo is on the Yankees-Indians games, as well as the Reds-Braves series.

Meanwhile, TBS will have its team of Rich Waltz and Jimmy Rollins in Tampa for the Rays-Blue Jays series.

It is understandable during the pandemic for ESPN/ABC to do the first Fall Frenzy remotely, but it would be a mistake to make that the norm in future years.

In the divisional round and beyond, both Fox and TBS will have announcers on site.

…. Good idea by baseball and ESPN+ to have “Squeeze Play” on the service starting Wednesday. While the name is only OK — we’d go Fall Frenzy+ — the concept could have an old school March Madness feel. With four afternoon games on Wednesday, ESPN+ will have Jason Benetti, Kyle Peterson and Mike Petriello host a whip-around show. For the pure baseball fan, this could be nirvana because you can bounce to potential scoring opportunities.

With ABC broadcasting its first game in a quarter century, here’s a little free advice for the next TV deal between MLB/Disney. With Disney really only wanting premium baseball, the two sides should create a September Sprint/Monday Series for ABC. If you had two Yankees games among the five, it probably could rate pretty well; especially if it were an exclusive window, meaning no regional sports broadcasts. From what we’ve heard, this hasn’t come up yet, but might be worth a discussion.

Clicker Books

Papa Clicker found “The Q Factor: The Elusive Search For The Next Great Quarterback” by Brian Billick and James Dale an interesting, quick read. Using the 2018 NFL Draft that featured Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Lamar Jackson, among others, the book broke down how success happens. There are some nuggets in there so it receives 4.4 out of 5 clickers.

Yankees WAGs hit the road together for MLB playoffs

The Yankees’ biggest fans appear to be on the move.

Ahead of Game 1 of the AL’s wild-card round between the Yankees and Indians in Cleveland, the wives and girlfriends of Yankees players — including Aaron Judge’s embattled gal pal, Samantha Bracksieck — documented their travels Sunday, according to screenshots from Awesemo.com.

“On the way to the airport but don’t know where we’re going,” a message read on one Instagram story featuring Mike Tauchman’s wife, Eileen. That message came before the Yankees knew which team they would be facing in the wild-card round.

MLB is not allowing the families of road teams to attend games, even though home teams will be allowed to have such guests. If the Yankees advance then the team and their traveling support system head west for an ALDS that will be contested in either Los Angeles or San Diego. Those games can be attended by guests from both sides.

Family members of players on contending teams were asked to quarantine for the final week of the regular season.

On Monday, outspoken Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer called out the league on Twitter for their ruling.

“Home team: family members can attend the games. Visiting team: family members cannot attend the games. @mlb: Yup! Checks out!” Bauer wrote. “Guess we didn’t win enough games this year to earn the right for our family to watch us play. Sorry Mom and Dad!

“Families can’t stay with players at our hotel. It’s supposed to be a “bubble”, yet random members of the community can stay there, ride the same elevators, share the same lobby, etc. Some bubble this is. I guess player families should just call the hotel and book a room?” he continued.

The Reds will face the Braves in Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon.

In July, Culpo revealed she and McCaffrey were expanding their family, introducing fans to Oliver on social media. The toy golden doodle has over 12,000 followers on Instagram.

McCaffrey’s reunion with his two favorite fans comes about a week after the NFL Pro Bowler sustained a high-ankle sprain in Carolina’s Week 2 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Culpo and McCaffrey have been dating for over a year. She was previously linked to Detroit Lions wide receiver Danny Amendola.
