Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, had a blast this past weekend ahead of NFL free agency.
The couple attended the wedding of Andi Owen and Clayton Brady in Houston on Saturday night. The ceremony took place at Grace Bible Church before the reception got underway at Lakeside Country Club. The quarterback was one of 19 groomsmen at the shindig.
Emily, who has been married to the 27-year-old Mayfield since 2019, shared moments from Saturday’s nuptials on Instagram. In one video captured by Emily, Mayfield is seen showing off his moves to the Cali Swag District’s 2010 hit, “Teach Me How to Dougie.” Emily also posted a trio of photos from the evening, including a shot of the Mayfields kissing.
For the second consecutive offseason, Mayfield could be on the move. He was traded from the Browns to the Panthers last July and although he was named the team’s starter, Carolina opened the season at 1-5.
In the wake of the Panthers’ slow start, head coach Matt Rhule was fired five games into his third season with the team. Mayfield, who also battled a high-ankle sprain this season, was released in early December. Mayfield then landed with the Rams and stepped into the starting role after quarterback Matthew Stafford was placed on injured reserve with head and neck injuries.
It is now a question as to whether Mayfield will return to the Rams in a backup role, or if he might try to catch on somewhere else this offseason.
“It’s going to be hard to try something else new, but obviously it’s going to be a big-time decision,” Mayfield said in January after the Rams concluded their season.
“So there’s going to be a lot of thought put into it. There’s going to be a lot of change this offseason all around the league. There’s nothing I can say right now that I think would be the true thing at the moment. So we’re just going to see what happens and roll with the punches.”
NFL free agency gets underway on March 15.
