This may actually be the most dramatic season of “The Bachelorette” yet.
The first trailer for Clare Crawley’s upcoming season of the hit ABC dating show dropped Monday night — and it leans into the bombshell rumors that she leaves the show mid-season. In the clip, the Season 16 star is visibly upset.
“Congratulations, you’ve just blown up ‘The Bachelorette,’ ” host Chris Harrison tells Crawley, 39.
Crawley will reportedly exit the show early and be replaced by Tayshia Adams. Although Adams, 30, was not mentioned in the promo video, her presence was felt, with a narrator acknowledging that fans want “Clare-ity” and “Clare-ification” about the upcoming season.
Crawley’s short tenure on the show seems to be anything but calm. “Drama this early is a little crazy,” says the longtime “Bachelor” nation alum in the clip.
“We caught you in a lie,” one contestant is heard yelling.
Crawley also gets loud, throwing out one of her potential suitors. “You are done — get out of here,” she scolds.
Die-hard fans shouldn’t be worried, as it appears there’s plenty of romance, too. She also smooches someone in the promo and says, “I’m so falling in love with you,” to someone special.
Crawley’s season was supposed to begin filming last spring but was put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic. It premieres Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m.
“The Bachelorette” isn’t the only one who will be tapping out early: Host Harrison will reportedly be replaced by Season 12 star JoJo Fletcher for two weeks. He allegedly left the bubble-like resort the show is filming at to drop his son off at college in Texas and was required to quarantine for 14 days.
Judas Priest’s Rob Halford on public-sex arrest: ‘I’ve f–ked up!’
Judas Priest singer Rob Halford once took a law-breaking walk on the wild side that could have ended his career.
The gay, leather-loving singer reveals in his “totally candid” memoir — “Confess: The Autobiography,” out Tuesday — that California cops covered up for his long-ago arrest for “public indecency” at a Venice Beach restroom.
In a book excerpt from Rolling Stone, the heavy-metal legend also relates a tasty affair from the early 1990s, when a then-closeted Halford would head to Camp Pendleton in California for threeways with a bisexual Marine sergeant and his wife — the only woman Halford says he has ever had sex with.
“Once the door was shut, we would go at it for hours,” Halford, now 69, writes of their hookups in his new torrid tome. “I’d leave there more exhausted than if I’d been for a gym workout.” He adds that he was “far more interested” in the man and that his “heart wasn’t in it” as far as having sex with the wife, although she was “a lovely, beautiful woman, with a perfect body.”
But the self-proclaimed “metal god” also got his kicks in other more lurid places. Halford recalls taking a mountain-bike ride in early 1992 — not long before he first left the band — and swinging by “a notorious men’s washroom” in Venice Beach, where he “decided to stop off and try my luck.”
His “luck” quickly ran out: After fondling himself in an open restroom stall, Halford was arrested by an undercover cop.
“Oh, f–k! A million thoughts raced through my mind,” he writes of getting caught. “This is it! I’ve f–ked up! It’s going to be in the papers! I’ve lost everything! And yet, at the same time, I felt oddly calm.”
A handcuffed Halford was taken to a police station and, while there, an officer recognized him.
“I thought it was you,” the cop told him, and then asked, “What the hell are you doing here, Rob Halford?”
“I’m a f–king idiot,” Halford replied. The officer said he would see what he could do about the situation. While waiting, Halford writes, other officers “flashed devil horns” at him through his cell window — a recognition of his Judas Priest stature — and he “did the same back, and stuck my tongue out. It passed the time.”
Halford was eventually released and the first officer who recognized him said they would keep the incident from the press. “I had been lucky. Again,” Halford writes.
“How did I feel? Stupid, and ashamed, but also angry — that, this late in the century, gay men still had to live in fear like this,” continues Halford, who publicly came out on MTV in 1998 and reunited with the band in 2003.
“I always call this arrest my ‘George Michael moment,’ after he did the same thing in Beverly Hills six years later,” he says, referring to the late Wham singer’s 1998 arrest for a lewd act in a park. “The only difference was that George wasn’t so lucky with the newspapers.”
He does, however, say he thinks Judas Priest fans might have gotten past his faux pas had it come to light at the time.
“I’d like to think for the most part if that incident had broken into the press then a great proportion of my fans would have said: ‘We’ll support you and stand with you,’” he recently told NME. “A few years later, when I came out on MTV, that was a proven fact because the feedback from around the world was positive — they just wanted me to continue being the singer for Judas Priest and get on with the job.”
In the memoir, Halford also talks about the sexual abuse he faced when he was younger by a friend of his father.
“At the time, it was terribly confusing and couldn’t have happened at a worse time, for me as a young guy that was already dealing with trying to figure things out,” he told Variety in an interview last week. “Talking about it now, I can feel the horror and being totally frightened and wanting to run away, but at the same time feeling, ‘Now this is affection, in a very crude brutal manner.’ It was incredibly, incredibly complex. You can only imagine for a young man, dealing with that type of assault. “
Ryan Dorsey moves in with Naya Rivera’s sister to help raise Josey
Naya Rivera’s ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, and her sister Nickayla have become quite close following the “Glee” star’s drowning in July.
Dorsey, 37, has moved in with model Nickayla, 25, as the pair care for Rivera’s son, Josey, 5, who was with the actress the day she drowned in California’s Lake Piru, according to the Daily Mail.
The two have moved into a three-bedroom rental, a process that began when Nickayla was seen helping Ryan move his belongings from his previous home in North Hills, in the San Fernando Valley, on Sept. 6.
“They were fooling around and chatting the whole time,” a witness to the pair’s subsequent trip to a Target told the Mail. “They’re obviously helping lift each other’s spirits.”
Dorsey and Nickayla are reportedly sharing the responsibility of raising Josey with Dorsey’s parents. Naya and fellow actor Dorsey (“Stumptown,” “Ray Donovan”) rekindled a previous relationship after the actress’ split from rapper Big Sean in 2014; they were married in July 2014 and Josey was born on Sept. 17, 2015.
Rivera initially sought to split from Dorsey in 2016, though the two reconciled. They eventually separated for good in 2018.
“There’s not enough words to express the hole left in everyone’s hearts,” Dorsey wrote in an Instagram tribute to Rivera after her death. “Life is all about good times and bad times but with Josey it makes the bad a little less so because a part of you will always be with us. He’ll never forget where he came from. We miss you. We will always love you.”
Rivera took Josey on a swimming trip to Lake Piru in Southern California on July 8. Though a good swimmer, Rivera suffered from vertigo, which intensified when she was in the water, according to the most recent autopsy and investigation details. Piru is known for its strong currents and deep waters; eight people have drowned there since 1994.
Max Ehrich publicly pleads for Demi Lovato’s attention after breakup
Max Ehrich continues to talk about his broken engagement with Demi Lovato on social media — even though he claims they haven’t even addressed it with each other yet.
On Sunday, the actor from “The Young and the Restless,” 29, took to his Instagram Story to post various messages about his split from Lovato, claiming he still hasn’t spoken to her.
“To this moment… we haven’t spoken over the phone… we haven’t even officially ended anything to each other, literally,” he posted in a since-deleted note.
“I’m here in real time with y’all. I love Demetria and just want her to be healthy and safe,” he continued, using Lovato’s full first name.
Ehrich also posted screenshots of Lovato’s music to launch a campaign for her to win a Grammy before appealing to her directly, writing, “If you’re reading this… I love you always… unconditionally… no matter what.”
He also took to Facebook to beg for 28-year-old Lovato’s forgiveness, pleading, “Forgive me and come back to me please.”
It’s unclear what he wants her to forgive him for, but it could be the social media posts in which he gushed about other female pop stars.
Ehrich’s desperate calls for attention came after he claimed that he found out about his breakup from “a tabloid.”
He didn’t mention which tabloid broke the news to him, but hours before Lovato ultimately pulled the plug on Thursday, Page Six exclusively broke that their relationship was on the brink of a breakup.
“It’s not over yet,” our insider shared at the time, “but it’s on its way there.”
Lovato hasn’t publicly commented on Ehrich’s pleas.
