Darren Till is a master at being a troll on the internet. His very NSFW Twitter and his random call-outs have made him extremely entertaining to follow on social media. His rivalry with Mike Perry and constant back-and-forth with multiple people make Till’s social media a very active thing to follow.
Till has kept this on-brand after commenting on the news of Yoel Romero being released from the UFC. The 43-year-old last fought for the UFC middleweight championship in the last UFC event which had fans – UFC 248. He lost to Israel Adesanya that night in a lackluster showing for both men.
Obviously, Darren Till is not going to get a fight with Yoel Romero. ‘Soldier of God’ is anyway on his way out of the company, and ‘The Gorilla’ has changed weight classes. Interestingly, after his middleweight debut, Till had said that he doesn’t want to fight Romero because he is a beast. However, he has always joked while saying that. At least, they are definitely not matching up anytime soon.
Darren Till: What does Light Heavyweight have in store for him?
Till will be jumping up a weight class yet again and will hope to find a home at light heavyweight. It is crazy to think that Till challenged for a world title at 170, but well he did. Now, he has jumped almost 40 pounds in weight and will meet very different opponents here. The power of light heavyweights and middleweights aren’t comparable, so Till will have to bulk up.
Considering he is coming off a loss, Till wouldn’t get an opponent at the top of the division. However, there are plenty of reasonable fights for Till. The riskiest would be to have him debut in the division against Thiago Santos, who is coming off a loss to Glover Teixeira.
Realistically, Till could be matched up with Anthony Smith. ‘Lionheart’ just arrested a losing streak and will want to make his way up the division. Dominick Reyes is a possible opponent too, but taking on a former UFC middleweight like Smith may be the best option for Till.
