“Bachelor in Paradise” alums Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Dean Unglert aren’t planning on starting a family anytime soon.
Miller-Keyes, 27, revealed in Wednesday’s episode of her “Help! We Suck at Being Newlyweds” podcast that Unglert, 31, wants to get a vasectomy until they are ready to have children.
“I don’t know if Dean’s talked about this on the podcast, but he really wants to get a vasectomy — before we have kids,” the former “Bachelor” contestant said.
“He wants to get a vasectomy because he doesn’t think it’s fair that a woman has to take birth control. So then, when we’re ready to have kids, he would un-snip himself, and we would have children.”
The revelation shocked Miller-Keyes’ co-host Jared Haibon, who dug a little deeper into Unglert’s decision.
“That’s very nice of him, but at the same time, like, is there any downside?” the fellow Bachelor Nation star asked. “Does it hurt the potential of having kids if you reverse it?”
Miller-Keyes admitted that she and her fiancé “both need to research this more” before adding, “I heard there could be pain that’s involved if you get a vasectomy. And so I was like, ‘I don’t want you to be in pain.’”
The pair, who met on Season 6 of “BiP,” got engaged in October 2022 after three years of dating.
The news caught some fans by surprise given Unglert previously stated he never wanted to get married.
However, the couple jokingly made a deal early on in their relationship that Unglert, who infamously lived in a van, would pop the question if Miller-Keyes bought him a new car.
“I was like, ‘I’ll buy you a ring if you buy me a truck,’” he shared on their podcast last year.
Sure enough, in August 2022, Miller-Keyes posted a photo of herself driving out of a truck dealership on her Instagram Story, saying, “I spent the afternoon at Toyota picking up something special for Dean.”
Prior to their relationship, Miller-Keyes competed on Colton Underwood’s season of “The Bachelor,” while Unglert starred on Season 13 of “The Bachelorette” with Rachel Lindsay.
