Jermell Charlo vs Jermall Charlo – What Are the Odds?

mm

Published

on

In a Charlo Doubleheader this weekend, the Charlo brothers headlined a card together for the first time in their careers. In the end, both of them successfully defended their titles by giving spectacular performances.

Both brothers have gradually become two of the most well-known fighters in the boxing game over the years. Now that both Jermell and Jermall Charlo have made a name for themselves in the light-middleweight and middleweight division respectively, there is an obvious question that arises in everyone’s mind: Will the two ever face each other? With them being divided by just one weight class, let’s analyze the possibility of a Charlo vs Charlo main-event.

Jermell Charlo (34-1, 18 KOs) became the unified light-middleweight champion after defending his WBC light-middleweight title while winning the WBA (Super), IBF, and the vacant The Ring titles. The victory came against Jeison Rosario in the eighth round via knockout.

Jermall Charlo (31-0, 22 KOs) is the current WBC middleweight champion. He defended his WBC title for a fourth time this weekend against a tough Sergiy Derevyanchenko via unanimous decision.

What are the chances of Jermell Charlo vs Jermall Charlo?

In an Instagram live video last month, Jermell flipped out on his brother Jermall as he took offense to the latter calling him theLil Charlo.”

Jermell went on a rant against his brother, who even asked him what was wrong in the comments section. Jermell wasn’t too pleased by all of this and stated Jermall fought many opponents whom the former had already beaten. He ended the video by calling himself “The King of 154.”

Now that the two are back on good terms, there isn’t a high possibility of the two fighting soon. Also, both brothers, especially Jermall, have to clear their division first as there are a lot of potential big fights to be made.

Seeing how the division is stacked with great fighters, it will be tough for them to beat all the competitors. If they do, which probably will take a lot of time, it will be interesting to see how things play out if any of them want to become a multi-division champion.

Wimbledon Championships 2021 Set to Get Underway Regardless of Spectator Policy

Wimbledon will return in 2021 after the organizers were forced to cancel this year’s edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The scheduled date as of now is 28th June 2021. What is surprising is that sources have confirmed that the Grand Slam will take place with or without spectators.

This is the first time since the Second World War that the tournament didn’t take place in a year. With the French Open 2020 postponed to early September and October, fans were hopeful that Wimbledon would take place later in the year as well. That was not the case, however. And now, the organizers have announced it will be played between 28th June to 11th July 2021.

Former World No.1 Andy Murray has also expressed his desire for Wimbledon to take place. The Brit surely wants to play in his homeland and the event where he has picked up two trophies. The 2-time Wimbledon champion recently lost to Stan Wawrinka in straight sets at Round 1 of the French Open 2020.

A great Initiative by Wimbledon in 2020

As Wimbledon did not take place in 2020, The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) decided to divert some funds to help those most affected by the pandemic. The money will help vulnerable people at the local, national, and international levels. This included financial help of £1.2m, donations of strawberries, towels, and balls intended for The Championships, and the distribution of daily hot meals to the needy ones.

The managing body also allocated the prize money of the tournament to 620 players. These were players whose world ranking was sufficient to gain them entry into Wimbledon 2020 by direct acceptance or through the qualifying event.

The AELTC also began to consider scenarios regarding the event in 2021. They also watched other Grand Slam events closely and to learn how they were managing them. The body also took a decision that it would not be staging any Public Ballot for Wimbledon 2021.

The stage is thus set for the 134th edition of Grand Slam in 2021. Fans will be excited to witness yet another electrifying Grand Slam on the grass next year.

REPORTS: Kyle Larson Spotted During NASCAR Activities in Philadelphia Amid Talks of Potential Return

Kyle Larson

Recently, there were reports of Kyle Larson turning up in Philadelphia. It is worth noting that a lot of top NASCAR figures are present in the city for a meeting regarding the Urban Youth Racing School. Larson is in no way involved with the school. Instead, he has a different subject to discuss- his potential return to the sport.

Talking about the school, it was founded in 1998 with the aim to provide education for underprivileged children. Aside from racing and NASCAR ties, it also focuses on imparting education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The school largely caters to children between the ages of 8 to 18.

The school boasts of more than 6,000 students participating in UYRS programs. As a further incentive, high-performing students earn trips to a New Jersey track with go-karts and other smaller vehicles.

Can Kyle Larson successfully petition NASCAR for a return?

Larson has been out of action for more than six months, as he is serving a suspension. Larson got into a heap of trouble with NASCAR for using a racial slur during an online race.

NASCAR clearly did not appreciate that, so they slapped him with a suspension. His employers, the Chip Ganassi Racing team, went a step further and fired him on the spot.

Since then, the repentant 28-year-old has been trying to earn a seat back in the sport. NASCAR has confirmed that they are in talks with the driver for a potential return. So it only makes sense that Larson has turned up at Philadelphia to try and convince Phelps to get him back to the sport.

So far, there has been no formal request for his reinstatement; however, there are discussions surrounding his potential reinstatement. He has kept himself occupied with sprint car races so as to hone his craft during these tough times.
