"If Tyson Can't Catch Him, It's Gonna Be a Lousy Fight" - Evander Holyfield Gives His Prediction for Mike Tyson vs Roy Jone Jr.

Mike Tyson will return to professional boxing after 15 years. He will fight Roy Jones Jr. in an 8-round exhibition on November 28. That said, the 54-year-old can still cause a problem for his opponent inside the ring.

Looking at his current physical shape and training clips, it appears as though Tyson is back in his prime form and is ready to unleash viciousness. However, Roy Jones Jr is also a former champion who ended his professional run just two years back. Thus, several fans are favoring him over Tyson in the upcoming fight.

Meanwhile, Mike Tyson’s former foe Evander Holyfield believes that ‘Iron’ Mike will have an advantage in the fight. As per Holyfield, the fight will run ahead only if Tyson fails to get a hold of Roy. If he gets that, Holyfield envisions it as a one-sided dominance from ‘Iron’ Mike.

Speaking with Teddy Atlas, Holyfield wished both the fighters and said, “It’s an exhibition and you know I hope both one do well. I think if Tyson catch him, he gonna hurt him. But if Tyson can’t catch him, it’s gonna be a lousy fight.”

Evander Holyfield against the winner of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr.?

Yes, it can be a possible matchup. Moreover, Holyfield was earlier touted to be Tyson’s opponent since both of them were seemingly getting ready for a comeback. However, Roy Jones Jr got the last laugh by bagging the deal.

Holyfield still wants to get inside the ring, but not for an exhibition clash. He said, “My whole thing, I wouldn’t do an exhibition. I didn’t want to go toy out and all this for four rounds.”

‘The Real Deal’ also wants to return to boxing to send a message to the younger generation. He is 58 years old but still looks sharp.

Speaking about it, he said, “The only reason why I wanna do it- to tell the young people, if you take care of yourself and I am really taking care of myself. A lot of bad habits- I didn’t have. I am still strong… I can do 70% of the stuff I used to be able to. I can do it and I am in good shape.”

The Tyson vs Jones event could be the catalyst for all the boxing legends who are looking for a way to get back in action. Tyson has already said he won’t stop after Roy Jones. Thus, a trilogy between him and Holyfield is also relevant. Fight fans can expect some intense matchups ahead.
