MS Dhoni has added another glorious chapter to his incredible captaincy record in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) title by leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to the final for a record 10th time. Under Dhoni’s brilliant leadership, CSK has bounced back brilliantly from a horror show in 2022, where they finished 9th, to be on the brink of lifting their fifth title.

Coming into the tournament, many critics cast doubt over CSK’s chances due to not having many big-name players in their bowling department. Their problems were compounded by several injuries in their camp, but Dhoni has surprised everyone once again as CSK have dominated the tournament so far.

Legendary Australian cricketer and former CSK star Matthew Hayden has revealed the mantra behind MS Dhoni’s success. Hayden has referred to Dhoni as a ‘magician’ also hailed the alignment between CSK and the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association .

“MS is a magician. He takes someone else’s trash and makes them treasure. He is a very skilful and positive captain. He said something really interesting which I thought summed up not only his humility and his truth around cricket where he is represented and that is in Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

“The alignment between that association and the franchise, how strong that is in terms of building that process. To me, that is MS. There is a systematic way of going through things and working through them. He did that for India and he is doing it for Chennai Super Kings. Whether he plays or not next year it is almost irrelevant. Personally, I don’t think he will, but then he is MS Dhoni,” said Hayden was quoted saying by PTI in an event organised by the University of Technology Sydney
