Chris Jericho is known for taking his weekly shots at WWE for this and that, but now it seems he’s laid down a line for his former company and its NXT brand.
In a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, “The Demo God” very assertively made a statement directed straight at WWE, ask them to back off.
“Leave us alone, do your own thing. Go to Tuesdays, grab an extra 250,000 viewers, finally get your demo where it needs to be ’cause it’s pretty embarrassing on a Wednesday night up against us,” says Jericho.
AEW has been over NXT by considerably large numbers these past few weeks. It’s safe to say that NXT is being held underwater by the growing promotion.
Chris Jericho feels that NXT is wasting its time with this, and even audaciously suggests alternate days!
“‘The Demo God’ thing is not a gimmick, it’s real. So go! Go to Tuesday go to Sunday, go to any other day you want but don’t exist just to mess with us ’cause we’re beating you every week, it’s kind of embarrassing for NXT at this point,” says Jericho.

Chris Jericho thinks the best way for NXT is through a retreat
Although die-hard WWE fans may hate to admit it, Y2J speaks sense. He explains how the Wednesday Night Wars are all but over for NXT, and for their own good, they must call it off.
Jericho concludes that the best way to deal with the sub-par numbers is a retreat.
AEW notched a total of 928,000 viewers last week, compared to NXT’s impressive 849,000. The promotion even beat NXT on the 18-49 demo.
The point Chris Jericho is trying to put across is that NXT is now out of its league, and WWE should be preparing for a war between Raw and Dynamite.
If AEW’s numbers keep rising like this, we may very well have another WCW situation. Maybe the best move for NXT is to move after all, or stay and fight the losing war.
