"LEBRON IS WAITING!!!": Stephen A Smith Lets Out His Frustration With Clippers Over Subpar Performance

The biggest story of the 2020 NBA playoffs has been the rise of the Denver Nuggets. After eliminating the Jazz in seven games, they are on the verge of championship favorites the Los Angeles Clippers.

While the fans are in complete awe due to Nuggets’ heroics, the story is quite the opposite for the Clippers. They have lost two opportunities to seal the series and now the tables have turned against them. The Clippers will be entering the decisive Game 7 with the momentum completely against them.

Furthermore, in the NBA Bubble, there are no home-court advantages to give a team edge over the visitors. As a result, the Clippers have to ball out to save themselves in Game 7.

NBA analyst Stephen A Smith called out the Clippers team prior to the matchup. He looked very frustrated with each player on the Clippers roster.

Everybody has been waiting for the Lakers vs Clippers, LeBron is waiting!!! AD is waiting!!! The dyanmic duo in the NBA is waiting for you [Kawhi Leonard]. Didn’t you had a commercial Kawhi Leonard? Didn’t you had a crown dangling in front of your mirror? Wasn’t that you saying, a new king has arrived in LA, wasn’t that you?

“Well, LeBron is waiting, he heard this sh*t and he got AD and he already took care of his business, he waiting, What are you gonna do?”

Every NBA fan who was anticipating the Lakers vs Clippers WCF could feel the pain behind Stephen A. Smith’s voice. Moreover, the Clippers are perfectly capable of of defeating the Nuggets. Instead, they are choking in one of the most important series of the year.

Can the Los Angeles Clippers seal the series in Game 7?

This is the question of the hour, the Clippers are on the verge of blowing a 3-1 lead. They could have sent Denver home in both Game 5 & 6 as they had commanding leads both times. But Nikola Jokic led his team back in the series with a series of humongous performances.

For Clippers, the best-case scenario would be to shift the entire focus on Game 7 and stop worrying about the WCF. Otherwise, they will drown with the pressure of their own expectations.

Nonetheless, the air will clear up after Game 7, what do you think? Will the Clippers finally defeat the Nuggets? Or are the fans in for an upset?

Goran Drajic suffers foot injury in Heat’s Game 1 loss to Lakers

Goran Drajic suffers foot injury in Heat's Game 1 loss to Lakers

The Heat dropped like flies and dropped Game 1.

First, Miami survived a scare with 20 seconds left in the first half when Jimmy Butler drove on Anthony Davis and planted his left ankle awkwardly. Butler crumpled to the court and limped off. Butler, who had notched 16 first-half points on 7 of 10 shooting, returned for the second half with only a minor limp.

Starting point guard Goran Dragic and starting center Bam Adebayo weren’t so lucky. Dragic suffered what the club called a sore left foot in the second quarter after taking a bad step and didn’t play the second half of the Heat’s 116-98 blowout loss to the Lakers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The Dragic injury sounded serious.

“Just let him know that I and we are here for him,’’ said Butler, who is far from 100 percent as well. “We know how much he wants to win, how much he wants to go to war and battle with us. We love him for that and we want him out there with us. But whatever the doctor tells him to do, that’s what he’s got to do.”

Adebayo, the newly minted All-Star who was the Heat’s best player in the Eastern Conference finals victory over Boston, re-injured his left shoulder with the team calling it a strain.

Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said he didn’t know the severity of either injury and had no updates or an ability to say how it all happened. Adebayo had hurt his shoulder earlier in the playoffs. The southpaw Dragic has been Miami’s quiet leading scorer in the playoffs at 20.2 points.

The Heat weren’t able to compete for much of the second half without either and fell behind by 32 points midway though the third. The Lakers have a ton of size on the Heat and Adebayo is their major force on the boards. The Lakers outrebounded Miami 54-36.

Before the game, Anthony Davis said the winner of his matchup with Adebayo would likely win the series. Adebayo had eight points and four rebounds in 21 minutes while Davis erupted for 34. To start the game, however, Spoelsta put Adebayo on Dwight Howard and Crowder on Davis.

Butler said he’s still “a bit sore” but … “I’ll be okay with some treatment. I’ll get ready to go again. I think I got to be ready to go.”

Lakers coach Frank Vogel said he consulted with Iona College coach Rick Pitino before facing Miami.

Pitino was head coach at Kentucky when Vogel was a graduate assistant.

“Coach Pitino had some ideas about attacking the [Miami] zone, so that was fun,’’ said Vogel, a South Jersey product.

Vogel admitted the vibe in the Disney World bubble wasn’t what he imagines a normal NBA Finals atmosphere would be.

“We just sat in traffic for some soccer moms waiting to pull into a little soccer tournament pulling in over there,’’ Vogel said before Game 1. “So that didn’t feel like the NBA Finals.”

Leicester flop to Lewandowski’s replacement? Hoffenheim hotshot Kramaric earning rave reviews

Leicester flop to Lewandowski's replacement? Hoffenheim hotshot Kramaric earning rave reviews

Andrej Kramaric set himself a goal before the 2020-21 season started.

Despite missing much of last season through injury, the 29-year-old striker scored 12 times in 19 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim – a tally that was topped up by four goals on the final day of the season against Borussia Dortmund.

“Many strikers can’t match that goal ratio. And my stats can get even better if I play every game,” Kramaric told Sport Bild. “I’m happy that I’m no longer injured.

“I’d like to score 17 goals, just like I did two years ago. I really want it to be a great season, and I will give everything to achieve this.

“But I also have to say in the last four years I missed our pre-season preparations, either due to injuries or because I played at the European Championship or the World Cup, but I still scored a lot of goals.”

Kramaric’s injury-free off-season has paid dividends already, and after just two Bundesliga games he is more than a quarter of the way to his goal target.

The Croatia international has long since recovered from a disappointing spell in the Premier League, where he bagged just four goals in 20 games after becoming Leicester City’s then-record signing at £9 million ($11.5m) in January 2015.

The Foxes loaned him out to Hoffenheim 12 months later before eventually selling him to the German club, where Kramaric has flourished, scoring at least 12 goals in each of his full seasons in Sinsheim.

This term, he has seven goals in all competitions already, netting a hat-trick on the opening weekend against Koln before scoring twice in the DFB-Pokal and then bagging two more in last weekend’s shock 4-1 win over Bayern Munich, which ended the European champions’ run of 32 games without defeat.

Kramaric’s first goal against Bayern was a brilliantly taken effort where he controlled the ball expertly while holding off Joshua Kimmich before finding the net with an instinctive finish.

At Hoffenheim, he has found the killer instinct he lacked at Leicester and is already the club’s record goalscorer despite only joining in 2016.

Before travelling to the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, Bayern head coach Hansi Flick singled out Kramaric as the main danger, calling him “one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga”.

“He’s a player you have to watch out for because he has a lot of qualities in the last third and in the box, but who is also able to outplay someone with his dribbling and movement,” he added.

After the 4-1 demolition, even more people started talking about Kramaric’s qualities, with Germany legend Lothar Matthaus believing the forward has the ability to line out for the Champions League winners.

“Hansi Flick’s praise a few days ago was no accident,” Matthaus told Sky Germany. “Kramaric has already scored five goals after two match days and has also scored twice in the cup.

“He is a player who, in my opinion, definitely has the potential for Bayern Munich.”

Robert Lewandowski has been crowned the Bundesliga’s top scorer in five of the last seven seasons and, after Timo Werner’s move to Chelsea, it looked as if only Dortmund wonderkid Erling Haaland would challenge the Pole for the title this season.

However, a new contender has emerged, and if Kramaric can stay fit he could be the player to end Lewandowski’s dominance in the race for the Torjagerkanone.

Goal

The last two runners-up to Lewandowski no longer play in Germany (Werner and Paco Alcacer), while 2016-17 winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now at Arsenal.

Lewandowski cannot be prised away from Munich, but his nearest competitors have a history of attracting attention from bigger teams, and Kramaric admitted in January that he would be tempted by a bigger side.

“I play in a big league, and I’m very satisfied at Hoffenheim, even though it’s not the biggest club in the world,” he admitted.

“Every footballer wants to play for one of the biggest clubs, that’s clear, but I have no pressure to leave.

“I have proven what I can do and reached a certain status over the last few years. But I want more – with Hoffenheim as well as Croatia.

“If I get the chance to accomplish more, I will take it.”

Kramaric has already taken the chances that have come his way on the pitch this season, and when he inevitably smashes his personal goal for the season, the former Leicester flop will definitely have plenty of clubs lining up to offer him another shot at the big time.

Toto Wolff Admits Lewis Hamilton Contract Talks May Not Happen For a Long Time

Lewis Hamilton is en route to his 7th title this season. The Briton was an arm’s length away from equalling one of Michael Schumacher’s most elusive records in the sport before a technicality robbed him of the opportunity. Lewis Hamilton isn’t a name anymore, it is F1’s universal face.

The Mercedes man will look forward to securing his claim to the Drivers’ Championship title at the Middle East triple-header. To bring up the drama, the Silver Arrows and Lewis will keep the contract talks silent till then.

However, that does not stop the likes of Eddie Jordan from speculating about the same.

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes spice it up with contract drama

The possibility of Lewis Hamilton leaving Mercedes to join Red Bull is out of the question. Mercedes are apt at dramatizing contract extensions and they aim for the same this time. They will look to drag it out to the last race of the triple-header at Abu Dhabi. However, the eventual result will be the same, an extension for Hamilton.

Mercedes have purposely built an air of ambiguity on the topic to keep the fans interested. Recently, on being suggested by a journalist, on extending Lewis’ contract at Hamilton’s mother’s house, the Team Principal showed no sign of denial. Toto Wolff said, “Can happen. We have already done this in the past.”

That gives you the gist of it. The team just wants to keep the pressure going until the championship is safely home. “I think it’s just about: We want to somehow get this championship dry and do a good job.

“This schedule of three races and a weekend break simply never allows us to put ourselves together properly.”

Mercedes are on their way to win this season. However, there is always room for the unexpected. Although Red Bull is far behind, you never know what sorcery turns the tables.
