NBA Playoffs: Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Game 1 ECF Injury Updates, Lineup and Predictions

This year’s Eastern Conference Finals is going to open up some old wounds. It is 2012 all over again when the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat went toe to toe for a place in the NBA Finals, and it was Heat that eventually won the series.

Both teams are going to be dealing with different kinds of dilemmas. While the Celtics will be determined to get back at the Miami-based outfit for their last loss, this the first time since 2014 that the Heat themselves have made it to the ECF.

This matchup is way more personal than any other that we’ve seen. Therefore, it is a must-watch.

Miami Heat injury update and lineup predictions

It was just earlier this week that the Miami Heat knocked out the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks. They will be looking to build on their momentum and keep the aggression up in Game 1 against the Celtics.

The Heat’s dominance this season has been exemplary, and the Bucks had no response to their stellar defense. They have managed to outshine even during clutch moments.

It looks like they are making up for their disappointing performances in the previous five years of the postseason.

Their key payer, Jimmy Butler, has shown why the Heat deserve to be the title favorites. His ability to showcase skills on either side of the court is going to play out very well against the Celtics.

Jae Crowder has been doing surprisingly well too. Chris Silva is the only injured player on the roster and has been declared as a game-time decision.

With most of their players in impeccable shape, the predicted lineup would be Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Jae Crowder, Goran Dragic, and Duncan Robinson.

Boston Celtics injury update and lineup predictions

The Celtics must be on cloud nine after beating the Toronto Raptors. This will be their third consecutive year of entering the Conference Finals. This means that they have more experience than the Miami Heat.

The Celtics’ roster is brimming with talent who can very well step up to the occasion when needed. In addition to that, rumors of Gordon Hayward’s return have been making the rounds.

According to coach Brad Stevens, he is expected to make his comeback anytime during the series against Miami Heat.

It’s true that the Kemba Walker has struggled a bit on the offensive front, but Marcus Smart’s defensive prowess has done wonders for the Celtics.

However, the Celtics’ secret weapon is Jayson Tatum. In his last game against the Miami Heat, Tatum became the second-youngest player in the NBA to achieve 25+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ assists in a Game 7.

Without a doubt, he will prove to be a major asset during their campaign for glory. Javonte Green (knee) and Vincent Poirier (personal) remain probable for Game 1 as well. Thus, the predicted lineup would be Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Daniel Theis, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown.

Game predictions

Since the Miami Heat have enjoyed a lot of time to rest and recover for the Finals, they will be walking in with an upper hand on the Boston-based franchise.

On the other hand, the Celtics’ exhaustion could prove to be their downfall in Game 1 as they take on the Heat on the heels of their win against the Raptors. Therefore, the Heat are expected to take over Game 1 of this series.

"AJ Went to Another Level" - Eddie Hearn on Anthony Joshua's Sparring Session With Joe Joyce

It looks like the unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and heavyweight contender Joe Joyce are set to clash with each other before their respective fights this year.

No, the clash won’t be a professional bout, but in the gym in the form of sparring. The two former Olympic medalists have sparred multiple times in the past while being a part of Team GB’s amateur program.

Joshua won the Gold in the 2012 Olympics in Beijing while Joe Joyce won a Silver in the next Olympics in Rio.

“There’ve been many bruising sessions over the years,” Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said.

“Joe has been around for many years on the amateur scene. When AJ was coming through, Joe was one of the experienced guys and some of their spars have been fantastic.

“Obviously AJ went to another level, but Joe is still an outstanding heavyweight,” Hearn added.

Who are Anthony Joshua and Joe Joyce’s next opponents?

Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) is set to face the IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev on December 12 this year. His last fight was a rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr., where he avenged his only loss and won his titles back.

Joe Joyce (11-0, 10 KOs) is scheduled to face fellow undefeated contender, Daniel Dubois. After the bout got canceled twice this year because of the COVID-19 lockdown, the date was finally decided to be October 24.

However, as the restrictions on gatherings did not ease up, the bout has been postponed again to November. As of now, the final date remains unclear.

With both heavyweights ready to slug it out in sparring, it will be interesting to see how “The Juggernaut” performs against an elite level boxer like Joshua. Although he has sparred with current WBC champ Tyson Fury in the past, the two champions have different styles.

As for Joshua, it will prime him for a big strong heavyweight like Pulev. Sparring different styles will also keep his timing right, as he will fight after an entire year. How will these sparring sessions help their overall game? Only time will tell.

"No More Messing Around"- Bubba Wallace Reveals Details on Conversation With Michael Jordan

Earlier this month, Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan teamed up to set up a new NASCAR team for 2021. The one-car team will feature Bubba Wallace behind the wheel come 2021. Recently, Wallace spoke about racing for his new team next year.

The Richard Petty Motorsports driver revealed that he spoke to the NBA legend, and they outlined their game plan. Speaking to NASCAR ahead of the race, he said, “He called me and said, ‘We want to do this right, no more messing around, we want to win’.

“I want to go out there and showcase what I can do behind the wheel.”

What else did Bubba Wallace say?

He confessed that things have not gone his way, but there are plenty of chances to get to victory lane. The 26-year-old recorded a best finish of 6th at Las Vegas at the 2020 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube earlier this season.

Since then, his results have been up and down, with four more Top-10 finishes to his name. This also includes a season-best of 5th place at Daytona.

Coming back to the Vegas race, the Richard Petty Motorsports team even brought in new updates. Speaking about his expectations, he admitted that the conditions will be hot and slick. Sadly, that predicted good result never came to pass, and he languished in 28th place.

Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan have already promised that they will deliver a fast car. However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and Jordan’s team is a massive wildcard in terms of performance. It is clear that Hamlin and Jordan recognize Wallace’s talent and want to give him a car that is worthy of such talent.

Jermell Charlo vs Jermall Charlo - What Are the Odds?

In a Charlo Doubleheader this weekend, the Charlo brothers headlined a card together for the first time in their careers. In the end, both of them successfully defended their titles by giving spectacular performances.

Both brothers have gradually become two of the most well-known fighters in the boxing game over the years. Now that both Jermell and Jermall Charlo have made a name for themselves in the light-middleweight and middleweight division respectively, there is an obvious question that arises in everyone’s mind: Will the two ever face each other? With them being divided by just one weight class, let’s analyze the possibility of a Charlo vs Charlo main-event.

Jermell Charlo (34-1, 18 KOs) became the unified light-middleweight champion after defending his WBC light-middleweight title while winning the WBA (Super), IBF, and the vacant The Ring titles. The victory came against Jeison Rosario in the eighth round via knockout.

Jermall Charlo (31-0, 22 KOs) is the current WBC middleweight champion. He defended his WBC title for a fourth time this weekend against a tough Sergiy Derevyanchenko via unanimous decision.

What are the chances of Jermell Charlo vs Jermall Charlo?

In an Instagram live video last month, Jermell flipped out on his brother Jermall as he took offense to the latter calling him theLil Charlo.”

Jermell went on a rant against his brother, who even asked him what was wrong in the comments section. Jermell wasn’t too pleased by all of this and stated Jermall fought many opponents whom the former had already beaten. He ended the video by calling himself “The King of 154.”

Now that the two are back on good terms, there isn’t a high possibility of the two fighting soon. Also, both brothers, especially Jermall, have to clear their division first as there are a lot of potential big fights to be made.

Seeing how the division is stacked with great fighters, it will be tough for them to beat all the competitors. If they do, which probably will take a lot of time, it will be interesting to see how things play out if any of them want to become a multi-division champion.
