On Wednesday afternoon, the Patriots made a surprise announcement and canceled two OTA practice sessions including the first session scheduled to be open to the media. Wednesday night, we found out why.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots lost the two days of organized team activities “due to a violation of offseason rules.” This punishment came directly from the league, and involved a practice for this Thursday and next Tuesday.
