NYC homeless woman stabbed in unprovoked Manhattan attack

A homeless woman was stabbed on a street in Midtown, Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The victim was at West 57th Street and Seventh Avenue around 3:40 p.m. when a man stabbed her twice in the right shoulder, cops said.

The woman, whose name wasn’t released, was taken to Roosevelt Hospital in stable condition.

The attacker was last seen running off on West 57th Street toward Eighth Avenue. He was wearing an orange hooded shirt.

The stabbing happened about two blocks south of Central Park.

The motive wasn’t immediately known, and cops weren’t sure if the two knew each other.
