Orphans beat the Blues, 11-0

Jun. 3—LITCHFIELD — The Howard Lake Orphans handled the Litchfield Blues 11-0 in a North Star League game Wednesday night at Optimist Park.

The game was called after seven innings because of the 10-run rule.

Jared Koch went the first six innings to get the victory. He struck out five, walked two and allowed three hits. Cory Dehn pitched a scoreless seventh, striking out two.

Cole Maciewski was 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, a double and a walk to lead the Orphans. Brad Bickmann, Mitchell Baumann,Sam Kittock and Moose Streich all had two hits apiece for Howard Lake.

Cody Klabunde was 2-for-2 for the Blues. Litchfield is host to the Delano Athletics at 7:30 p.m. Friday and then plays at 2 p.m. Sunday at Maple Plain against the Diamond Devils. Both contests are North Star League games.
