Steph Curry has historic first quarter vs. Celtics

The first half was a tale of two Steph Curry’s.

The Warriors star dropped 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting — including hitting an NBA Finals record six three-pointers — in the opening 12 minutes of Game 1 on Thursday.

He caught the eye of several NBA stars.

“Steph locked,” Grizzlies star Ja Morant tweeted.

Curry’s point total marked a personal best for a single NBA Finals quarter — one off Michael Jordan’s record set in 1993 and two off his own career best in any quarter of any game.

It didn’t carry over into the second quarter, in which Curry posted a goose egg.

The 34-year-old missed both shots he took, including one from beyond the arc.

After the first 24 minutes, the Celtics hold a 56-54 lead over Golden State, and it may come down to which Curry shows up in the second half.
