"They Were Reaching For My Chain"- Cam Newton Addresses On-Field Clashes Against Dolphins

Cam Newton started his tenure in New England with a win against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Bill Belichick seemed pleased with the 21-11 win to kick the season off. However, Newton’s performance, in particular, will come as a huge positive.

Newton was the start for the Patriots as they managed to begin life after Tom Brady on a positive note. Here’s what Cam said in the post-game presser in relation to some on-field altercations with the Dolphins players.

Cam Newton shines on his New England Patriots debut on Sunday

The man-of-the-moment Cam Newton addressed the media following their win over the Dolphins on Sunday. The 2015 NFL MVP spoke about the on-field incident that involved some of the Dolphins players.

“I still got my chain. I got two of ’em. They were reaching for my chain, though. They were reaching for my chain. And I think that kind of got up under my skin. But yeah, through it all, man, listen — I don’t want nothing to be taken away from a great team game that we did have.

“And I don’t want to be selfish to kind of focus or dwell on that. I think for us as a team, or me personally — a lot of tempers can flare. And I was just teasing with Coach [Bill Belichick], just letting him know that the College Park almost came out in me.

“Yet through it all, man, it was all fun and games. And it was expected,” Newton said via NFL Network.

The former Carolina Panthers man spoke about his mindset heading into the season.

He said, “It wasn’t nothing. It was a competitive game — on both sides. You just have to realize who you’re talking to, and just keep everything in the game.

“I realized I was talking to a person that’s known for doing splits. So it wasn’t characteristic of myself to keep going back and forth. But at the end of the day, it’s football.

“And for me, no matter who it is, I play with a competitive edge and I expect the other team to have a competitive edge. And at the end of the day, anything outside of that, it’s just all about respect. I don’t disrespect nobody, and I wouldn’t want anybody to disrespect me. But yet at the end of the day, we got the thing that was most valuable today, and that’s the win,” Newton concluded.

The Patriots are slated to go up against the Seattle Seahawks away from home and then host Las Vegas Raiders at the Gillette Stadium the week after. Coach Belichick will be preparing for a mouth-watering Week Four clash against the reigning Super Bowl champions, Kansas City Chiefs.

"Who Is Nielsen" - Jorge Masvidal Not Impressed With the World’s Most Marketable Athletes Rankings

Combat sport athletes have made their mark on SportPro’s list of the World’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes. While the list features several big names from the world of boxing and MMA, their order is a bit surprising, even for UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal.

Powered by Nielsen, the list features soccer icon Lionel Messi on the top. The highest-ranked combat athlete on the list is UFC lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov. Despite not fighting in the year 2020, the Russian has been in news a lot.

He was booked to fight Tony Ferguson in April, but the fight fell through due to the pandemic. The death of his father in the month of July also came as a shock for all his fans.

The only other MMA figure on the list is Jorge Masvidal, who ranked in at 24. The UFC welterweight took the MMA world by storm with his three back-to-back victories last year. Amidst a rift with the UFC over a pay dispute, Masvidal then stepped in at a short notice to face UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman at UFC 251.

While he didn’t win the fight, the narrative of him stepping in on short notice and going five rounds with a fully prepared champ gained him a lot of praise. Moreover, after Masvidal came to know that only two MMA athletes have cracked into the list, ‘Gamebred’ wasn’t impressed with the same.

22-year-old Ryan Garcia acquires the top-spot among boxers on the list

The work put in by Ryan Garcia on his social media posts have finally paid off. Coming in at No. 12, WBC Silver lightweight champ is the highest-ranked boxer on the list. Garcia’s Instagram videos where he shows-off his insanely fast hands and reflex skills have attracted millions of followers from around the globe.

The other two boxers who complete the list are heavyweight juggernauts Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. The two are ranked side-by-side at 31 and 32.

Fury stepped in the ring earlier this year when he defeated Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua last fought and defeated Andy Ruiz Jr. last year in Abu Dhabi. The two have also signed a contract to fight each other if they get past their respective mandatory challengers.

The ranking of the athlete’s marketability was made after assigning them a score. Called the Influencer Selection and Measurement Framework, the methodology draws on vast amounts of social media data to generate an Athlete Influencer Score comprising four key data points: relevance, reach, return, and resonance.

Fall Guys was the most unexpected breakout game of the year. Not only is it extremely simple, but is also super fun to play. I love to play games of all kinds. You can usually find me casually teaming up with my squad to play the most random games ever. Oh, and I also manage to write about those sometimes

BREAKING: History Created at French Open 2020 After Six Hour Marathon

Corentin Moutet and Lorenzo Giustino faced each other in Round 1 of the French Open 2020. While many expected it to be an ordinary match, it turned out to be a historic game.

The match lasted for 6 hours and 5 minutes, making it the second-longest match in the history of Roland Garros. Additionally, it was the fourth-longest match in the history of Grand Slams.

In a match that saw a total of 459 points won by both the players collectively, Guistino defeated the Frenchman 0-6, 7-6, 7-6, 2-6, and 18-16.  It was also the first Grand Slam win for the Italian player Guistino.

Record Fifth-set scoreline makes French Open history

The fifth set scoreline was 18-16, a record for French Open’s red clay. It was almost as if nobody will give up at any point. Surprisingly, Giustino won only 34 games as compared to Moutet’s 40 but still ended on the winning side.

Fabrice Santoro and Arnaud Clement held the earlier record, with the fifth set scoreline being 16-14. The match between the two lasted for 6 hours and 33 minutes, the longest match so far in the French Open’s history which Santoro won 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 3-6, and 16-14.

Who could have possibly thought that after losing the first set 0-6, the Italian player would make such an impossible-looking comeback! In the end, Giustino not only turned the tables but also registered his name in history. Playing 6 hours is not a joke, requiring a lot of sweat and determination.

Lorenzo Giustino will next face the new sensation, Diego Schwartzman, who recently defeated World No.2 Rafael Nadal on clay. The Argentine even reached the finals of the Italian Open 2020 but lost to World No.1 Novak Djokovic.
