The ‘Bullet’ Valentina Shevchenko outclassed Jennifer Maia in the co-main event of UFC 255. With all three judges scoring 49-46, the Champion won the fight via unanimous decision. Shevchenko has now defended her title for the fourth time and has established her supremacy in the division.
Valentina’s elder sister Antonina fought on the same card and stunned Ariane Lipski with a TKO win in round 2. The ‘Bullet’ credited her mother for Antonina and her success in the Octagon today. The fight game runs in the Shevchenko family’s DNA, and that’s what was evident today.
In a post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, the champion shared her thoughts on her victory.

So she had this push of good energy for myself and my sister Antonina, she has so amazing victory today and I was watching in the hotel her fight and I was sure everything was so perfect, no mistake and nothing.”
The champion continued, “In my opinion, she deserves best performance of the night. So I would say women power it’s about our family, we are very strong girls.”
Who’s Next in Line For Valentina Shevchenko?
— UFC (@ufc) November 22, 2020
Valentina Shevchenko is regarded as one of the greatest female fighters in the world right now. She defended her flyweight title for the fourth time and is on a six-fight winning streak. The southpaw lost to Amanda Nunes, back in 2017, but has bounced back brilliantly.
On the UFC 255 card, women’s flyweight contenders Katlyn Chookagian and Cynthia Calvillo faced each other. The former won the bout to retain her stranglehold on the #2 rank in the division.
Jessica Andrade holds the top spot and would be the ideal pick for the next flyweight title fight. However, there have been no official confirmations made by the promotion on Flyweight Champion’s next title defense fight.
