'We'll Drop a Bomb'- Dana White Has Something Big Planned For UFC Fans

UFC President Dana White spoke to the media at a scrum heading into fight week in Abu Dhabi. The world leader in MMA makes its return to Fight Island after spending the latter portion of 2020 in Vegas. Chiefly, this is the UFC’s third visit to Fight Island and the company has certainly benefitted greatly from this move.

The organization has made it a point to start the year on a massive note with a triple-header fight week. Moreover, the UFC 257 pay-per-view that rounds out the week will see Conor McGregor make his return. ‘The Notorious’ has been away from the cage for about a year and fans are excited to see him make an emphatic return.

Dana White previews big things for 2021

The long-time boss of the UFC came out and revealed to fans and media members that there were some massive things in store. White is known to plan huge moves for the growth of the company and he clearly has no intentions to slow down. A global pandemic in itself wasn’t enough to stop the UFC’s momentum.

“We’re working on some cool stuff, every year I say to you guys I’m gonna take it to another level, this year included. We’re working on some interesting stuff.”

“Hopefully mid-summer maybe and early fall, we’ll drop a bomb on everybody, you’ll see. I’d tell ya, I’d announce it but we have to get it done first.”

Fan speculation begins to trickle in

What’s more, it’s not unlike Dana to go around and drop some teasers for fans to chomp on to build up hype. This has been a frequent practice and has certainly paid for itself in full thus far. However, fans and media have been engaged in rampant speculation as to what it could be.

The general consensus leans towards the possibility of the return of a massive superstar like Georges St-Pierre. A fight between GSP and Khabib Nurmagomedov could be in the works and this would certainly be a highlight of 2021. Furthermore, it’s also possible that the UFC could be looking to make move in the realm of fight training and promotion. Their ventures into Performance Centers could be undergoing expansion in 2021.
