What channel is Cowboys vs. Chargers on today? Time, TV schedule for NFL Week 2 game

If there were any questions about how Dak Prescott would respond from offseason surgery or if Justin Herbert would suffer a sophomore slump, both answered those questions resoundingly in their favor.

Prescott and the Cowboys took on the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers and though they lost 31-29, Prescott went 42-for-58 with 403 yards and a touchdown.

At first, the 58 passing attempts might seem jarring and surprising given that Prescott is coming off surgery and that the Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield, but he only mustered 33 yards on 11 carries.

Still, Cowboys’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore gave his justification and said he wasn’t concerned about Elliott’s production or lack thereof.

“Obviously the rushing production is an easy one to look at and say, Eh, wasn’t a great day. Protection was really good, caught a couple passes out there, got some completions. That was a unique game. I think Zeke’s a big-picture guy. He sees it,” Moore said.  “That was the No. 1 rushing defense in the NFL. We could bang our head against the wall if we want but at the end of the day I thought they did a good job stopping the run.”

Herbert meanwhile managed to have a serviceable game, totaling 337 yards and a touchdown and interception a piece, but he was more helped out by the running game, with the Chargers totaling 90 yards on the ground and scored on an Austin Ekeler touchdown.

The second-year quarterback out of Oregon found eight different receivers, including Keenan Allen, who had 100 yards on nine catches.

These were two teams with big expectations heading into the season, so it’ll be interesting to see how both offenses look and if the passing game will remain as prevalent.
