Ladies Golf
The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf league played the back nine for the first time this season on Monday. The play of the day was Subtract Your Putts. Winners of the game were: Ruth Lamantia, first place; Yuko Atwell, second place; and Tammy Koutsky, third place. Winner of the long drive on hole No. 16 was Erin Ankrum. Brenda McCloskey was the winner of the closest to the pin on the second shot on hole No.14. The golfer rewarded for the lowest putts of the evening was Neysa McCart.
The league’s next outing will be June 5 since play is not held on holidays.
This 9-hole league is open to all women golfers. Play is every Monday from May through September at Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg. Tee-off is at 5 p.m. Call the club house to sign up on the day of play by 3:30 p.m. at (304) 737-2201.

Women’s Golf League
Town and Country Women’s Golf League played medal play May 18. Winners were: A Flight, Kathy Antinone; B Flight, Lattee Chinakarn; and C Flight, Rose Kaczmarek. Chip-in/birdie was recorded by Pat Zorne on Hole No. 7 and Norma Henson recorded a birdie on Hole No. 9. Low putts were Signa Findlay, Henson and Marilyn Crew.

Spring Hills
Ladies Golf League
The Spring Hills Ladies Golf League held their opening day for the 2023 season April 27. The play of the day was a scramble. The winning team was Tammy Koutsky, Debbie Phillippi, Tammy Cox and Carmela Wallace.
Long drive winners were: A flight, Yuko Atwell; B flight, Brenda McCloskey; and C flight, Janet Backel. The 50/50 drawing winner was Phillippi.
Due to May 4 being rained out, a make-up game was played May 9. Play of the day was “Throw out your two worst holes.”
Winners were: A flight, Atwell; B flight, McCloskey; and C flight, Wallace.

Cadiz Women’s
Golf League
The play of the day for the Cadiz Women’s Golf League on Wednesday was, “Predict Your Score” and the hostesses were Denise Augustine and Susie Gibson. The winner was Linda Tyson.
Coming in second place with a scorecard playoff were Kathy Newburn and Sherry Sapon. Karen Sims had low putts for A Flight; Donna Griffin and Kathy Smith, B Flight; and Sandy Terek, C Flight.
Griffin and Bonnie Beetham had chip-ins, while Terek and Augustine had birdies. Next week’s play of the day will be “N.O.S.E.” and hostess will be Smith and Griffin.
