WOW! BJ Penn Offers His Hand to Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier Over Charity Fight

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are in talks for a charity fight. Veteran BJ Penn chimed in and offered to serve as a backup if the event requires so.

Conor McGregor is shifting focus from his entire drama with Dana White to fellow UFC colleague Dustin Poirier.

When Daniel Cormier brought up the Conor and White feud on Twitter, Conor clarified his stance and made Poirier the offer. He wrote:

Hey bro! You want to do an MMA charity fight? Zero to do with the UFC. I will donate half a mill towards your charity for it. Sell it on PPV or work a tv deal and we work out other charities that are close to my heart also. I am engaged in many. Strictly a charity “exhibition.”

Conor McGregor even suggested a time and place for this charity fight. He said:

“December 12th in the Point Depot, Ireland. No weigh-ins. Open weight, unified rules. I will arrange all travel fare for you and family. McGregor Sports and Entertainment MMA, in association with The Good Fight Foundation. Charity Mixed Martial Arts!”

BJ Penn wants to fight!

Poirier accepted almost immediately. The event aims to raise money for Dustin Poirier’s charity, The Good Fight Foundation. Poirier and McGregor will now have to make it official.

BJ Penn jumped on this opportunity to do some good for the world. Penn wants to make his contribution. He offered to serve as a back-up for the event. A charity fight with BJ Penn on the cards? Yes, please!

The only possible obstruction in the way right now might be the fighter’s contract with the UFC. They aren’t allowed to fight outside the promotion without prior permission. With UFC 256 aiming for the same date, do you think the fighters will be allowed to go ahead with this charity fight?
